About Me

I am a clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience.  I am licensed in both Oregon and Washington.  I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work in 2002. I have worked in a variety of settings including mental health clinics (all ages), cancer counseling with adults, hospital with adults in the medical system, college counseling, and private practice.

The field of psychotherapy has evolved quite a bit over my time in practice and there is always much to learn. I am an eager learner of different modalities and approaches because I do not believe there is one approach that works for everyone.  I have pursued advanced study in certain modalities that help guide my thinking and those include Internal Family Systems (IFS) (Levels 1 & 2) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1).  I have particular experience and interest in the areas of difficult life transitions (break-up, empty nest, job change, retirement, etc), difficult family relationships, traumatic childhood experiences, struggles with partners, and health issues and the medical system.  I enjoy working with with adults, both individually and in couples (which can include partners, friends or family members).
